Reflexology is an incredibly relaxing treatment with health benefits. It is a holistic treatment that is based on the principle that certain areas on the feet, hands and ear are linked through the nervous system to corresponding parts of the body.

There are 7,000 nerve endings in the human foot alone! By massaging and applying pressure to these reflexes you can stimulate a response and movement of energy along the nerve channels to restore homeostasis (a natural balance within the body). Systems and organs within the body naturally work together to heal and rejuvenate and reflexology will encourage the body into this natural healing state, bringing balance, promoting the natural elimination of toxins and invoking a sense of deep calm and relaxation. Stress, injury or illness can put immense pressure on the body and reflexology can help to bring back the natural balance and encourage the body to do what it naturally should do.

Imbalances manifest themselves as a build-up of uric acid deposits at the end of these nerve endings. You can feel this as crunchy lumps of varying sizes, building up on these points. This blocks the pathways and reflexology can break down this build-up. Visible signs of imbalance could be hard skin, bunions, corns, changes of colouring and son. You may also feel tender areas on the foot and this could also be a sign of imbalance.

Reflexology aims to treat the whole body and areas in need will be focused on. Each treatment is personalised to your own needs.

There is no claim to cure as ultimately it is the client’s response to healing themselves.
