Sound can be deeply healing, not just to relax to but as a way of accessing a true depth of relaxation that can help you go forward in your life, grow and flourish and achieve greater health and well-being
In a sound therapy session we discuss how your life/health issues affect you within the body – physically, mentally, emotionally and, for some, on a spiritual level. You do not need to tell me everything about your problems, just describe the effect they have. From there I will write a tailormade ‘sonic prescription’ using the deeply relaxing and stimulation tones in ‘sonic signatures’ from gongs, Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls and percussion instruments. Then all you have to do is lie down on a couch, relax and be bathed in the beautiful sounds!
Research has shown that sound therapy can be of benefit for:
- stress-related issues
- pain, including back pain
- migraines and headaches
- life-limiting illnesses such as dementia, Parkinson’s and cancer
- muscle spasms
- rotator cuff problems
and many other life issues.
Using the sound and the technique known as The Cooper Sax 5Rs method©, I create a safe space to facilitate your treatment. You may enter an altered state of consciousness (ASC) during the session, where the brainwaves lower and you experience a dream-like state with rapid eye movement (REM) – this is perfectly normal and an indicator that you are deeply relaxed, a truly lovely feeling.
The 5Rs are
Within the treatment session there is a possibility you will do some ‘processing’, enabling you to release on different levels. It may be a release of physical muscular tension, emotional tears, or mental anxiety and stress. This brings about the potential for clarity, self-awareness, learning, uplifting spiritual connection, empowerment and transformation – the path to truly flourishing.
PLEASE NOTE: One-to-one sound therapy sessions are not suitable for the first three months of pregnancy, or if you suffer from epilepsy triggered by sound, or seizures. Please consult Sonja on 07739 019565 if you have bipolar disorder, serious mental health issues or ongoing serious medical conditions, or suffer from grand mal tonic colonic seizures.
