Hypnotherapy is a safe, effective and deeply relaxing therapy that can bring about positive change in a person’s behaviours, thoughts and feelings.

The treatment is carried out using hypnosis in order to relax a person into an altered or trance like state. We all naturally drift in and out of altered states every day. Have you ever driven your car to a destination without being able to recall the actual journey? This is a good example of a trance like state where our conscious mind drifts off allowing the unconscious part of the mind to take over; we are still aware and can come back to consciousness at any time we choose. This is the same as the altered state achieved in hypnotherapy.

When we are in an altered state, the unconscious mind can be accessed and the hypnotherapist proceeds to offer positive suggestions for change to the unconscious. This can be very powerful in helping to facilitate change in a person.

Hypnotherapy can be extremely effective for weight loss, smoking cessation, relieving anxiety and stress, overcoming fears and phobias, breaking habits, building self esteem, improving self-confidence, improving sleep patterns, and increasing motivation.


NLP is the acronym for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is often described as ‘the user’s manual to the mind’ and allows us to understand the way in which we think, why we do what we do and how we can do things better.

Imagine your mind is your own personal computer. Your computer is constantly running a number of programs that were programmed based on past experiences. These programs cause you to think, communicate and behave in certain ways in response to the situations you encounter in your life. Unfortunately, over time these programs can become outdated and no longer serve you in what you want to achieve.

NLP provides us with a set of tools that allows us to examine our beliefs and patterns (programs).

When we become aware of how we currently think, communicate and behave and the impact this has on other people, we are able to change these aspects to help us achieve more of what we want in life. We can effectively re-program our minds so that our new ‘software’ is aligned with our new beliefs. Our new programs replace the old programs so that our thinking, communication style and behaviour all align with who we want to be.
