Liz Waldron

Counselling/psychotherapy

I have over 25 years’ experience of helping and empowering people achieve positive change.

My background was working for the Government Training Commission in a consultancy then management role, helping young people and adults from diverse backgrounds and needs achieve their potential. It felt a natural progression to professionally train as a counsellor and psychotherapist, becoming a Registered and Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) www.bacp.co.uk.

Always looking to add therapeutic tools to my practice, I further trained as a clinical hypnotherapist, becoming an Accredited and Registered member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), NLP practitioner (Neuro Linguistic Practitioner) and life coach. I am a bereavement specialist, having trained and worked with CRUSE Bereavement Care counselling and supervising for 10 years. I also spent two years working as counsellor for a cancer charity. I am an NCST Accredited and Registered Smoking Cessation Advisor and Supervisor with mental health specialism.

Continuing professional development is a passion and commitment and I have trained and attended workshops and seminars in a diverse range of topics, such as: dementia; longterm health conditions; Asperger’s; learning difficulties; cancer; PTSD and trauma; veterans, critical incident debriefing; acceptance commitment therapy and, most recently, compassionate focused therapy with Dr Deborah Lee. This informs and strengthens my practice.

In addition to my established private practice in Lymington, I have worked in the private, public and charity sectors and currently hold the post of Senior Counsellor/Supervisor with an NHS Trust working with high-intensity clients.

I am also providing counselling for a number of corporate and insurance companies.

Working with individuals and couples, I consider it a privilege and pleasure to be trusted to help clients achieve the positive outcomes and goals they seek.
