Swap to an organic cuppa We drink around 100 million cups of tea and 95 million coffees a day in the UK. Think of the huge impact we could have together if all of us made a small switch to organic for our daily brew.

Turn your garden organic From peat-free compost to pollinator-friendly plants, it’s one of the easiest ways you can champion healthy soils and biodiverse wildlife populations from the comfort of your home.

Find a box scheme From fruit and veg, to eggs, meat, herbs and honey, hundreds of organic farmers offer box delivery schemes across the UK – healthy, seasonal organic food delivered to your door.

Make your own face mask from organic ingredients Support companies that don’t test on animals or use controversial chemicals, parabens and phthalates, synthetic dyes or fragrances in Organic Beauty and Wellbeing Week starting on 7 September. Volunteer on an farm  WWOOFing is a great way to travel for free in the UK and abroad, meeting fellow agriculture enthusiasts while getting your hands dirty with a real-life learning experience on an organic farm.

Support your local shops Our two favourite organic outlets are: Beaulieu Organic Farm Shop, specialists in meat but offering a wide variety of other produce, and Sunnyfields, a huge emporium near Marchwood that sells just about everything you can think of, with a fantastic range of fruit and veg and pop-up café.

Choose organic bread Here’s the Soil Association’s list – including one we’re definitely going to try: Turmeric Sourdough from the Famous Hedgehog Bakery, available from Abel & Cole.
