Welcome to our newest product editions to The Hub: Claudia Davies’s Studio Knoga yoga bolsters which are lovingly supporting and warming our yogis on these cold winter mornings and evenings…
Handmade by our very own yoga teacher Claudia Davies, these bolsters are crafted by her in her knitwear design studio in The New Forest. They are made from the finest quality Italian yarns, from all- natural fibres, and are hand-filled with organic buckwheat hulls. The hulls allow constant air circulation through the bolster, which keeps you cool and dry. As the buckwheat doesn’t compress under pressure the bolsters will reduce stress on your neck, head and spine, which provides for a comfortable and restful practice… and any other activity like sleeping or driving if you are on the hunt for relief in that area! They are also excellent for people suffering from intolerances and allergies, because buckwheat hull pillows are considered hypoallergenic.
About Claudia Davies
Claudia graduated from Central Saint Martins school of art and design in London and has since been making it her mission to combine knitwear and yoga for a fluid, all-encompassing sensory experience in her yoga classes (hence the name of her new range, Studio Knoga, a fusion of knitting and yoga). Her bolsters are being used throughout The Hub’s classes and and are on permanent display upstairs in the studio, available for purchase. The large bolsters (pictured) are at a starting price of £50 each, plus there are medium heart-opening bolsters at £35 which double as perfect lower back supports in your car, and other customers have used them to support knee injuries while sleeping. There are also eye pillows that hug your face during shavasana at £15.
All Studio Knoga products are scented with the highest-quality, therapeutic grade essential oils from doTERRA, so you have even more benefits supporting you through your restorative yoga or meditation practice.
Claudia is also offering an optional service of your very own personalised Studio Knoga customisable bolster, eye pillow, weighted blanket, crescent moon meditation pillow etc. Just get in touch with her to discuss your desires and requirements. You also have the opportunity to visit her studio (at SpudWORKS, Station Road, Sway SO41 6BA: spud.org.uk) where her selection of yarns are on display for you to see, feel and decide, and see the industrial knitting machine from the 1920s that she uses to lovingly make each item. Furthermore, each purchase comes with a lifetime guarantee and adjustment service if needed – one of the many advantages of supporting local creative businesses.
Please note: all prices will be increasing as the brand continues to grow, so get your bolsters early! Watch this space for the up-and-coming launch of the website and social media of @studioknoga.
