Acupuncture for headaches and migraines

acupuncture for headaches and migraines

Richard Newman’s acupuncture offers instant relief from the pain of headaches and migraines. It works by treating the cause of the pain so the headaches do not return

‘It works immediately, no waiting for five or six sessions to see results – very impressed.’
Katie Platt

‘I went to see Richard on Friday and he just stopped my headache after all this time. I feel really great – it feels a bit strange to not have it. So happy with the result.’
Mark Hazel

Treating the cause, not just the symptoms

Richard Newman was fortunate enough to study acupuncture in Germany and London with Dr Tan, a world-famous acupuncturist originally from Taiwan who ran one of the busiest acupuncture clinics in the US, treating hundreds of patients every day. Dr Tan taught a style of acupuncture that gives immediate relief from pain.

By specialising in treating headache conditions using Dr Tan’s methods Richard has become extremely effective and efficient in his techniques.  He says, ‘The results speak for themselves.  When you can instantly remove someone’s suffering it is a great feeling.  I have trained in three different styles of acupuncture and can say for sure that this is the most effective. This clever technique meets the needs of today’s world using a safe and natural cure.’

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What types of headaches and migraines can acupuncture treat?

All types. The most common types of headaches that are treated include: tension headaches, cluster headaches, migraines, sinus headaches and headaches from neck or shoulder tension.

Does acupuncture hurt?

No. Generally nothing can be felt during the treatment, but occasionally a dull ache can be felt at the site of some acupuncture points.

How long will I take to get better?

Using this style of acupuncture you should start to see significant improvements from your first session. Each case is slightly different and this is something to be discussed during the consultation, but it is not uncommon for patients to need only one or two sessions to see a longterm benefit.

What if I have tried acupuncture before and it did not work?

You may have tried acupuncture before but not seen much change in your condition or headache. However, as Dr Tan used to say, ‘When you stand a pole under the sun you immediately see a shadow.’ Likewise, we should see an immediate result during an acupuncture session. This style of acupuncture helps to restore balance to the muscles, nerves and blood flow, ensuring a longlasting result.

My headache is caused by neck tension. Can this still help?

Yes, a headache caused from neck pain or tension is very common. This treatment will treat the neck pain and the headache.

What if I don’t have the headache during the treatment. Will it still work?

Yes, because we are treating the cause of the headache it will prevent it coming on in the future.

Will I still be able to take my medication?

The treatment will not interfere with your current medications. However, if you are taking painkillers for your headache we advise that you reduce these as your headache improves.
