Homeopathic remedies for travel sickness

Motion sickness is such a drag when you’re off on holiday – it even prevents some people from wanting to travel. Children from three to 12 years old are particularly susceptible, and there’s nothing worse than coaxing a sick child through a journey. So whether it’s the car, boats or planes that bring on that telltale belly unease, here are some homeopathic remedies for travel sickness. Our homeopath Sue Leach recommends you use 30c pills, taking one an hour or so before you set off on your travels, then repeating as often as you need throughout your journey. These remedies are safe for everyone to take, however young your children – and you can repeat them often (every 10 minutes if needs be).

Cocculus One of the top homeopathic remedies for travel sickness. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting and dizziness.

Ipecac Constant nausea with or without vomiting. Nausea with lots of saliva production and the person may look very pale.

Cocculus/tabacum/petroleum This combination has a long history of traditional use in travel sickness for any mode of travel, symptoms include severe nausea, dizziness and cold sweats. Particularly good for sea sickness.
